RC Lain History

RC Lain, Inc. has been an independent insurance agency located in Port Jervis, NY since 1927.  Started by Russell Chester Lain the agency was purchased by George B. Harper Jr. in January of 2010 from David Kerr.  RC Lain represents over 15 national and regional insurance companies assuring a perfect match of client to company in most cases.

Prior to purchasing RC Lain, George Harper was the owner of Tri-State Insurance Agency in Augusta, NJ for twenty-five years.  Mr. Harper grew Tri-State from a single employee agency in 1976 to an agency with over twenty employees when it was purchased by Sussex Bank Corp in 2001.  After the sale, Mr. Harper stayed with the company until 2009.  Mr. Harper developed and managed a campground liability program from 1984 to 2000.

In RC Lain Mr. Harper is joined by his son Brett Harper.  Together the Harpers have focused RC Lain on the customer.  They specialize in personal service and attention to entrepreneur’s business insurance needs and individual home and auto insurance needs.
